Examination & Evaluation System

Classes I – V: CCE system of evaluation is followed in classes I – V, to assess the learning of the pupil. They are assessed in Scholastic and Co-scholastic areas. The academic year is divided into two terms. Each term ends with an evaluation.


Classes VI – X: CCE refers to a system of school based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of development. The evaluation is thus a curricular initiative, attempting to shift emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health, appropriate skills and desirable qualities besides academic excellence. This will equip the learners to meet challenges of life with confidence and success. The student be tested for scholastic and co-scholastic areas. Promotion will be granted on the basis of the whole year’s performance of the student in the CCE.

Scholastic Areas include: Formative and Summative Assessment.
The academic session for classes VI – X is divided into two terms.
Each term will have two formative and one summative assessment.
Assessment will be indicated in grades.

The grading scale for the scholastic areas is a nine point grading scale.
Co-scholastic activities include:

·         Life skills (Thinking Skills, Social Skills and Emotional Skills)
·         Attitudes (towards teachers, schoolmates, school programmes and environment)
·         Values
·         Literary and creative skills
·         Scientific Skill
·         Aesthetic Skills
·         Performing Art
·         Clubs (Eco, Health and wellness, etc)
·         Sports
The above shall be evaluated and graded on a five point grading scale.

Promotion Criteria for CLASS XI

The students will be evaluated on the basis of Formative tests and the two Terminal Examinations. The evaluation is continuous. The class XI assessment weightage is as follows:

Promotion Policy:

  1. Student must score the pass percentage (33%) in each subject in cumulative result.
  2. Minimum attendance of 75% is must.
    While class 12th examination based on the syllabus for class 12th only shall be conducted by the C.B.S.E according to their scheme

Academic year

The academic year commences in April and concludes in March. The annual examination for classes IV to IX is held in the month of March/ April.

Public examination for class X and XII which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, is also held in March.
Courses of Study 

The school has classes from IV to XII and prepares students for All India Secondary School Examinations and the Senior School Certificate Examination of the CBSE, Delhi. At the 10+2 level the courses offered are humanities.

The Medical Room and the services it provides are an important part of your child’s life at school, especially in the event of illness or injury.

The goal of health services personnel is to assure that children maintain the best possible health in order to benefit from and enjoy their school experiences. The Health Room is available to administer first aid for illness or injury sustained at school. 

Computer Room

 

In this age of Information Technology, an early exposure to basics of computer readies every child for the future and also helps the child to overcome any inhibitions they could have towards computer usage. Our school has one computer lab contains with latest models of 20 computers where students learn.

Computers are in almost every household today and are a part of every child’s educational journey. For this reason, learning about the computer, word processing and presentation programs, and Internet research and information consumption should begin in the primary grades.

MUSIC ROOM

Music is an integral part of our life. It is the most relaxing diversion in our stressful life. Children of all ages love music classes. This activity starts right from the beginning, the Nursery class and continues up to class 10.Songs are also earmarked for special occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, National and Social festivals. Students are trained in instruments according to their talent and ability. The school has instruments like harmonium, flute, table and various drums.

SCIENCE LAB

Science Lab provides a way to the students to learn through experiments. Our school lab has certain scientific techniques which introduce the student with the world of natural sciences. It helps the students from class I to Xth to have a skillful concrete technical knowledge under the guidance of skilled teachers which shows them the way to their career.

MATHEMATICS LABORATORY

 It is a place where students can learn and explore various mathematics concepts and verify various mathematical facts and theorems using variety of activities and it is well equipped with necessary kits and tools. It provides an opportunity to the students to understand and internalize the basic mathematical concepts through concrete objects and situations. It provides greater scope for individual participation in the process of learning and becoming autonomous learners.

LIBRARY

LIBRARY

Library is an educational agency seeking to acquaint the students with the world’s literature and cultivate a love for reading.  It should inform its users of what material are available in their collection and how to access that information. It provides quiet steady space for students and a way to access the various resources which they may not get during the classroom interaction. Our school library collection contains books, newspaper, CDs etc.

It is an honor and a privilege to be the Principal of GSSS, KHUDA LAHORA, the school that stands for excellence and continuously sets the standards. Education has important role in the life of an individual and it cannot be over stated. It shapes individuals FOR THEIR PRESENT AND FUTURE and Inculcate values in them that would govern all their choices in life. For me, Education does not mean only to literate. It means literate is wisdom. My aim is not only to be an able administrator but also to be a friend, philosopher and guide to students and teachers one whom they can count on and trust at all times.

Our effort is focused not only on pure study but also on providing opportunity to each child to explore his or her own capabilities and area of interest. For this, we have provided each child with many activities both co-curricular and extracurricular to help the child become the best person he or she can be. Excellence is achieved when each person is helped to continually develop his or her potential as an individual and a member of society.

Man of character is the real pillars of the nation, so school education is the foundation of character of an individual. The habit of study, the love of learning and the quest for truth, the responsible use of freedom, personal integrity and a willingness to help improve society, are especially important. It is well known that the critical developmental period for these qualities is up to the age of twelve years. The earlier a child benefits from an education which fosters these good qualities the better the chance he or she has to reach his or her full potential and to make a positive contribution to society.
